I was raised on this man (and to a lesser extent, Engelbert Humperdinck [LOL]).
What an underrated vocalist of his time…
…even if many of his songs were just covers.

I didn’t understand the lyrics to this song until I became older and had my heart broken. Once it hit me I’d snap my fingers and click my tongue, as Nigerian’s do when they intend to prove someone wrong, at the thought of the individual who committed the crime against my heart.

There’s a saddening pleasure that comes with the thought of that…
…the phenomena of emotionality…
